Game by Jonathan Whiting
Music by David Whiting
aka Demoscene Time Machine
A brash underwater shooter, synced to a single killer chiptune track.
Brothers Jonathan and David Whiting have been making games and music respectively for years. Now and again they join forces and make something together. As David lives in Stockholm, and Jonathan in Oxford, emails are sent!
Mussel is the spiritual successor to flash game Stalwart. Both are games by Jonathan wrapped around a music track already created by David. Both are loose rhythm-action games, that emphasise musical empathy over 'press this button on the beat' mechanics. Whereas Stalwart was made to fill a void left by a redundancy, Mussel is a palette cleanser, to get used to smaller solo projects again after two years working on Sportsfriends.
